In the first match of women, Hockey Chandigarh defeated Hockey Himachal 4-0. Hockey Chandigarh took the lead before halftime with the help of goals from Payal (17′) and Kamaljit Kaur (22′). In the second half, Chandigarh doubled its lead with two goals from Pooja (43′, 48′). Uttar Pradesh beat Punjab In another women’s match, Uttar Pradesh Hockey defeated Hockey Punjab 5-1 in a preliminary stage match. Skipper Vandana Patel (1’, 17’, 25’, 34’) scored brilliantly while Komal Pal (59’) also got her name on the scoresheet. Sukhveer Kaur (60’) scored a consolation goal for Hockey Punjab in the final minutes of the match.
Uttarakhand Men win In the men’s match, Hockey Uttarakhand defeated Hockey Jammu & Kashmir 11-0. ArpitKumar Kohli (7’, 9’, 22’) and Mahender Singh Bisht (37’, 51’, 55’) scored three goals each. Apart from them, the other scorers included skipper Naveen Prasad (27’), Ankit (41’), Neeraj Ram (45’), Pankaj Kumar (52’) and Rohit Shah (53’). Later, Hockey Chandigarh will take on Hockey Punjab in the second men’s match.Uttar Pradesh Hockey beats HaryanaHockey Haryana lost 4-0 to Uttar Pradesh Hockey in the last men’s match of the day yesterday. Akash Pal (6′) gave Uttar Pradesh Hockey an early lead, followed by Abhishek Khatik (43′), Ashu Maurya (47′) and Ujjwal Pal (56′) to ensure the win.
