History-sheeter miscreants abducted and thrashed the young man for gundatax

Korba. Famous for the country’s largest coal mines, Korba is also being known for hooliganism. The latest case is of Durpa Road of Kotwali police station area. Where history-sheeter miscreants abducted a young man and beat him up for gundatax. After beating him to death, the miscreants left the victim in the middle of the night. After which the family members took the young man to the hospital. The police has now registered an FIR in this matter.

On the complaint of the victim Abhishek Tuli (24), an FIR has been registered against a total of 9 miscreants including Cheena Pandey, Gopu Pandey, Komal Patel, Gautam alias Kande, Alok alias Sona, Krish alias Golu, Pandya, Nishu and Rahul alias Motu. All the accused have been booked under sections of kidnapping, extortion, assault and intimidation. These include non-bailable sections. The name of Cheena Pandey, a resident of Purani Basti, has also been involved in a murder case. Which was also done from the district. Apart from Cheena, other miscreants have also been history-sheeters.

The victim youth Abhishek told in the complaint that on June 14, Cheena Pandey and his miscreants demanded Rs 10,000 from him as goonda tax. On saying that he did not have money, first kidnapped him, took him to his cowshed and beat him to death. The miscreants beat him up under the influence of alcohol. Abhishek told that Cheena Pandey has already taken five to ten thousand as gunda tax two to three times.

After this incident of fighting, it is also being linked to the battle of supremacy. If sources are to be believed, it is a battle of supremacy between two groups engaged in illegal work. Due to which one group had demanded goonda tax from the people of other group. The first group was demanding Gunda tax from the second group which was conducting illegal activities. After which this whole matter has come to the fore. There is a lot of discussion about the role of the police in this whole episode.
