Hisar Demand to restore mining in Khanak Zone of Bhiwani

Stone crusher unit operators on Monday expressed anger over the suspension of mining operations in the Khanak zone of the Aravalli region of Bhiwani district and demanded immediate resumption of work.
They said the Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC), which manages the mining operation in Khanak, made the decision to halt operations suddenly and without any reason. They will meet the Chief Minister in Chandigarh on April 8th to raise the issue, as it will lead to a sudden increase in the prices of construction materials and adversely affect the livelihoods of workers there.
Bhisham Mehta, president of the Khanak-Dadam Stone Crusher Association, said, “Crusher owners in Khanak will meet Chief Minister Nayab Saini on April 8th to demand the resumption of mining operations and put forward their other demands.”
He said that HSIIDC officials had asked crusher owners on April 2nd to expedite the lifting of material from the hills, and on April 3rd, a message was sent to remove all vehicles from the site.
He said, “There are approximately 150 crusher units in Khanak-Dadam, which are affected by the frequent disruptions in mining operations. The sudden shutdown has also increased the prices of crusher materials like stone aggregate and gravel in the market, forcing customers to look for alternatives elsewhere.”
