Himachal: Winter festival organized at President’s residence
Himachal Pradesh: Rashtrapati Niwas will organise Winter Fest on December 7 to celebrate the cultural heritage of Himachal. A special Winter Fest will be organised at Rashtrapati Niwas (Mashobra) on December 7, a spokesperson of Rashtrapati Niwas said here today. “This one-day event will be dedicated to celebrating the vibrant cultural heritage of Himachal Pradesh, in line with the President’s vision of transforming Rashtrapati Bhavan into a cultural hub,” he said. He said the festival will feature a mesmerising performance by the Himachal Pradesh Orchestra Band, “Harmony of Pines”, along with traditional group dance by local artists and a special singing performance by an Indian Idol participant.
Visitors can view authentic local crafts and visit food stalls showcasing the essence of Himachali traditions and cuisine, the spokesperson said. He said since it was opened to the public in April 2023, the Niwas has welcomed over 1.1 lakh visitors, giving them an impressive cultural experience. He said visitors can make hassle-free booking through the official website https://visit.rashtrapatibhavan.gov.in or at the reception desk on arrival. According to a notification issued by the state government on Wednesday, IGP (Welfare and Administration) Bimal Gupta has been transferred as IGP (State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau).
