Himachal: The soldier was cremated with full military honours
Himachal Pradesh: Akshay Kapoor, a soldier of the Dogra Battalion posted in Arunachal Pradesh and a resident of Bagni village, was cremated today with full military honours. Akshay (29) died of a heart attack on Friday. On this occasion, Dharamshala MLA Sudhir Sharma, Congress leader Devendra Jaggi, former MLA Vishal Nehria, Panchayat Pradhan Suresh Kumar Pappi and many district administration officials paid tribute to the departed soul. Akshay’s body was brought from Delhi by road. The body reached Army Area Yol Cantt on Sunday night. On Monday morning, an army contingent reached Bagni village with the body of the soldier, while the martyr’s family was waiting for the body with teary eyes. A funeral procession was taken out from Sidhbari to his village. His elder brother Lucky Kapoor lit the pyre. Akshay’s wife Riya Kapoor bid farewell to her husband in bridal attire. Akshay was married just two months ago. Every eye was moist and the entire area echoed with the slogans of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ and ‘Akshay Kapoor Amar Rahe’.
