Himachal: Students launched a cleanliness drive at the ancient Shiva temple in Baijnath.

Himachal Pradesh: The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), Shimla Circle, celebrated the “Swachhata Hi Seva Abhiyan” at the historic Shiva Temple complex in Baijnath. The nationwide campaign, which runs from September 17th to October 2nd, will conclude with Swachhata Diwas on Gandhi Jayanti. As part of this initiative, a cleanliness drive was organized at the temple complex. Approximately 70 school students from local institutions, their teachers, and ASI staff participated in the cleanliness drive. To foster creativity and spread awareness, the ASI also organized painting and rangoli competitions.
In the painting competition, Alisha Sahu from Parmarth International School won the first prize, followed by Sunakshi from Gurukul Public Senior Secondary School and Aditi from Pandit Amarnath Sanatan Dharma School. In the rangoli competition, Parmarth International Public School won the first prize, Vision International Public School won the second prize, and Gurukul Public School won the third prize. Dilawar Singh Deol, BMO of Baijnath, was the chief guest at the event. He motivated the students by emphasizing the importance of cleanliness and emphasized the need for responsible disposal of medical and household waste. The program concluded with a vote of thanks from Dr. Vijay Kumar Bodh, Assistant Archaeologist, ASI Shimla Circle. The expedition also received active support from Mai Bharat, Government of India, which ensured its success.
