Himachal: School children and parents are worried in Sanjauli
Himachal Pradesh: School children and parents faced some anxious moments as children had to be stopped in their schools after protests against an “illegal mosque” in Sanjauli turned violent. Some parents who rushed to the school to pick up their children after receiving a message from school authorities got caught in the protests and some even suffered injuries. “Why did the administration not keep the schools closed today when it knew so many people would enter the city? Both parents and children had to suffer a lot,” said a woman holding her daughter’s hand tightly.
Another woman who had come to pick up her little girl from school said that the children in the school looked very scared. “Many parents could not reach the school immediately after receiving the message from the school in the afternoon and their children had to wait for a long time. Nursery-KG children looked very scared,” she said. Former Shimla Mayor Sanjay Chauhan said that it was unfortunate that young school children had to go through such a harrowing experience. “What was the need to create so much chaos in the city? He said, “They could have protested peacefully and saved the children and parents from the trouble.”
