Himachal: Samagra Shiksha signs MoU to promote digital education

Himachal Pradesh: Himachal Pradesh’s Samagra Shiksha has taken a step towards strengthening digital education by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Pratham Infotech Foundation. The MoU was signed between Rajesh Sharma, Project Director of Samagra Shiksha, and Prem Yadav, CEO of Pratham Infotech Foundation. The MoU aims to implement the “Mera e-School” program in government schools across the state. The program’s primary objective is to provide quality digital education to students, bridge the digital divide, and ensure the effective use of technology in daily teaching and learning processes.
Under this program, Pratham Infotech Foundation will create high-quality e-content for classes I to X, based on the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education syllabus. This content will be available offline, ensuring that all students have equal access to digital learning, despite internet connectivity issues. The program will be implemented in 500 schools across the state and will be rolled out in phases. The first phase will begin in 2025-26 in Sirmaur, Shimla, and Solan districts. The program will be fully funded by Pratham Infotech Foundation under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), ensuring there is no additional financial burden on the state government or overall education.
