Himachal: Damaged crash barrier poses danger to passengers

Himachal Pradesh: Crash barriers from Barar to SDM office on Aani-Bashta Marg have been damaged. No steps have been taken to fix these barriers, which may lead to an untoward incident. Garbage pickers may pick up and carry away these haphazardly and dislocated barricades, which may increase expenses. Meanwhile, commuters are facing trouble due to railings lying on the road. The concerned authorities should get the damaged barriers repaired as soon as possible to avoid any accident and for the convenience of commuters. -Jai Singh, Aani
Curb the loot of infrastructure
The officials responsible for the failed infrastructure projects should be held accountable and punished for their negligence, which led to the wastage of public money. The Kullu-Manali national highway suffered heavy damage during the floods last year and it exposed the quality of work done by the NHAI contractors. The Bhootnath bridge in Kullu became non-functional within five years of its inauguration and no one has been held accountable for such a huge waste of public money. The government must ensure that such infrastructure plunder is curbed. – Sanjay, Kullu
