Himachal: 2 teachers killed, 2 injured as car falls into ditch
Himachal Pradesh: Two teachers were killed and two seriously injured when a car veered off the road and fell into a gorge near Tyari bridge on the Kharamukh-Holi road in Bharmour on Tuesday. Chamba Superintendent of Police Abhishek Yadav said the accident occurred when the teachers were returning from an under-19 sports competition at Government Senior Secondary School Holi. The deceased have been identified as Dilip Kumar, 57, a resident of Saraina Rakh village and Naveen Kumar, 55, a resident of Jabbal village.
Dilip Kumar died on the spot, while primary school teacher Naveen Kumar succumbed to his injuries while being taken to hospital. The cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained. Two injured teachers, Kamlesh Kumar, a resident of Holi village and Jarm Singh, a resident of Kalaha, have been admitted to Dr. Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College (RPGMC), Tanda, where their condition is said to be stable. Locals rushed to the spot and started rescue operations after informing the police, Chamba Superintendent of Police Abhishek Yadav said. The police have registered a case and are investigating the cause of the accident. The bodies of the deceased have been handed over to their families after post-mortem.
