Heavy rain expected in Uttarakhand till June 26
Uttarakhand | Heavy rains are expected till June 26. The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for thunderstorms for the next three days. In view of the Meteorological Department’s alert, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami has instructed the officials to be vigilant. In Uttarakhand, the Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for heavy rains in Nainital, Champawat, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, Dehradun, Tehri and Pauri districts till June 26. Whereas on June 27 and 28, heavy rains are expected at isolated places in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Pithoragarh, Rudraprayag and Bageshwar districts.
According to the Meteorological Department, along with rain, winds can blow at a speed of 40 to 50 km per hour. Due to which there can be incidents of waterlogging on the roads, landslides on the mountains and falling of trees. The Director of the Meteorological Department has appealed to the people to be vigilant during this period.
In view of the Meteorological Department’s alert, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami has instructed the officers in all the districts to be vigilant. CM Dhami has asked to continuously update weather related information in view of Chardham Yatra. The Chief Minister has instructed the officers and employees not to keep their phones switched off till June 27 so that immediate relief and rescue work can be done in case of any emergency. The Chief Minister has also appealed to Chardham Yatris and tourists to visit the mountains keeping an eye on the weather.
