Heavy collision between lorry and ambulance, 6 killed including two women
Ghatal: A lorry and an ambulance collided heavily in West Bengal. Six people died and many others were injured in this accident. All the injured have been rushed to the hospital for treatment.
The ambulance was coming from Ghatal to Medinipur Medical College with patients, while the lorry was going from Medinipur direction towards Keshpur. Then the accident happened near the big pole near Panchami. Both the vehicles collided heavily. Most of the people travelling in the ambulance were injured in the accident. The collision was so strong that the ambulance was completely damaged. Six people including two women died on the spot in the accident. According to eyewitnesses, there were seven people in the ambulance and two people including the driver in the lorry.
Superintendent of Police Dhritiman Sarkar gave information about the incident. He said, “A lorry loaded with cement collided with the ambulance of Keshpur. Six people died and two people were injured. The injured have been admitted to Medinipur Medical College Hospital. The injured are residents of Chandrakona Khirpai area. Three women are also among the dead.
Let us tell you that after getting information about the accident, officers along with the police team also reached the spot. The police have taken the bodies into custody and sent them for post-mortem, while the injured have been taken to the hospital.
