According to a report by Check Point Research, a new malware, Electron bot, has come to the fore, which is affecting social media accounts.

According to the report, this virus is attacking the social media accounts of the users and till now this virus has made more than five thousand accounts its victim. It is being told that this malware virus very easily gets access to your accounts through other apps. In the reported cases, this virus has gained access to users’ smartphones and then their social media accounts with the help of several game apps.

These game apps were seen in people’s phones but they were not actually games apps. Actually these were only clones of apps, using which hackers have attacked users’ accounts with this electron bot. Cyber Cell ASP Bhupendra Singh Negi told that along with controlling your system, the electron bot also accesses all the information on your social media account. With the help of this malware, the hacker registers a new account on the user’s device and then uses the user’s social media. He told that this virus has been seen in Google’s Albums app, Google Photos. That is, the virus can enter your smartphone through this app. ASP Bhupendra Singh Negi told that to stay safe from this type of virus, do not forget to download an anti-virus app on your phone and do not download any third party app, due to which the virus can reach the smartphone.
