Haryana: Congress demands resignation of Hardeep Puri

Haryana: Congress workers protested in Mahendragarh on Saturday, demanding the resignation of Union Minister Hardeep Puri over his alleged “links” to the Epstein Files. Members of the District Congress Committee and the Women and Scheduled Caste (SC) Cell burned an effigy of the Union Minister at the city’s Ambedkar Chowk. A signature campaign was also launched demanding Puri’s resignation. Satyaveer Yadav Jhukiya of the District Congress Committee said, “There is anger across the country against the Union Minister. He should immediately resign as his name has surfaced in such a serious case. If the government believes in transparency and accountability, this matter should be investigated impartially.”
Former Chief Parliamentary Secretary Anita Yadav said that there should be no compromise on issues related to the safety and dignity of women. She said, “If people in high positions are found involved in such cases, their resignation is the right way to uphold democratic values.” District Mahila Congress chief Dr. Rajwati Yadav said, “The central government has maintained silence on this matter, which is a matter of great concern.” Totaram Kohli, district head of the Congress SC cell, said that people will not remain silent on such matters. “If Puri does not resign from his post, the Congress will intensify the agitation across the country,” Kohli said.
