Haryana: Accused arrested for raping a 13-year-old minor

Haryana: A 13-year-old girl in Gurugram was allegedly raped and severely beaten by a neighboring youth on Tuesday afternoon. An FIR has been registered at Sector 29 police station and the accused has been arrested. According to the complaint filed by the victim’s mother, the girl had left home around 3:00 PM to visit her maternal grandmother but never arrived. “After some time, we realized she hadn’t reached and we began searching for her,” the mother stated in her complaint.

“After two hours, I found my daughter in bad condition in the gallery near my rented room. She told me that the neighboring youth, Aryan, had lured her to his room, where he raped her. The accused didn’t stop there; he also thrashed her badly and threatened to kill her if she told anyone about the assault. Soon after, her health began deteriorating and she was rushed to the hospital,” the mother added. The victim is currently receiving medical treatment for her injuries at the local hospital.
“Following the complaint, an FIR was filed at Sector 29 police station under relevant sections of the law and the accused was arrested. A senior police officer stated, “We are questioning the accused, who has confessed to the crime.” The police have said that an investigation is underway to ensure justice for the victim.
