Gujarat: Three-year-old girl dies in hospital after being saved from falling into borewell
Gujarat: A three-year-old girl died after falling into a 30 feet deep pit in Ran village in Devbhoomi Dwarka district. The incident took place on Monday at around 13:00 and at around 21:50 the child was recovered from the well in an unconscious state. According to medical officials, he was later immediately shifted to a hospital in Jam Khambhalia town for treatment, where he died during the night. Initial reports indicate that suffocation was a possible cause of death, awaiting confirmation from a post-mortem examination. According to Deputy Collector HB Bhagora, the girl had fallen into an open well while playing, following which Army and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) personnel had to be deployed for the rescue operation. An NDRF official shared that the rescue operation included securing the girl’s hand with a rope and using a hook in the shape of an L for greater stability. Additionally, they also conducted parallel excavations in an attempt to reach the child. Soon after removing water from the well, an ambulance immediately took him to a government hospital in Jam Khambhalia.
