Gujarat: A bag containing Rs 8.70 lakh was looted from a contractor in broad daylight in Vapi
In Gunjan area of Vapi, two bike-borne youths fled after looting a bag containing Rs 8.70 lakh in broad daylight. The contractor and the employee were going to another bank by bike after withdrawing money from the bank, when two bike riders surrounded an employee and ran away after looting a bag full of money by dropping an employee on the ground. After the incident, the police reached the spot and started a search operation by blockade.

According to the information received, labor contractor Hemant Prajapati and employees living in Chhiri village of Vapi went to ICICI Bank located in Gunjan area on Monday to withdraw money from the bike. Hemant Prajapati withdrew Rs 8.70 lakh in cash from the bank to pay the labourers. With the money in the bag, Hemant had left to go to another bank with the employee. Meanwhile, two people riding a black bike near Upasana School knocked down the employee riding the bike and looted a bag full of cash.
The police is trying to reach the accused by scanning the CCTV cameras installed nearby.
Hemant Prajapati shouted loudly about the incident and chased both the bike riders but did not get success. People ran after the robbery incident. Hemant Prajapati informed the police. As soon as the information is available, P.I. BJ Sarvaiya and team reached the spot. Police started blockade to nab the accused. After the incident of broad daylight robbery in Vapi city, panic spread among the people including traders. Police is trying to reach the accused by scanning the CCTV cameras installed nearby.
