Governor Republic Day parade rehearsal: Major traffic change in Chennai
Tamil Nadu: Republic Day celebrations will be held on 26th near the Statue of Labor on Kamarajar Road in Chennai. On this occasion, the rehearsal of the Republic Day parade was held today at Chennai Marina Beach Kamarajar Road. The country is preparing for the 76th Republic Day celebrations. On 26 January i.e. Republic Day, the President will hoist the flag in Delhi. Similarly, in each state, the Governor of the respective state will hoist the national flag in the state capital.
Security has been tightened across the country on the occasion of Republic Day this year. Also, arrangements are being made for the Republic Day parade and art performances. Governor Ravi is going to hoist the national flag in Chennai, so preparations have intensified.
There is a constant confrontation between Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi and the Tamil Nadu government. Recently, Governor Ravi walked out of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly session without reading his speech. Also, the Tamil Nadu government has filed a case in the Supreme Court against giving the Governor the power to appoint Vice Chancellors for universities.
In such a tense situation, on January 26, Governor Ravi will hoist the national flag at Marina Beach Road in Chennai. On the occasion of Republic Day, a parade will be held to celebrate the culture and heritage of Tamil Nadu. The first parade rehearsal of the Republic Day celebrations was held near the Statue of Labor on Kamaraj Road in Chennai Marina Beach this morning.
In today’s Republic Day rehearsal program, rehearsals were done as if the Governor and the Chief Minister were coming. Rehearsals were also held for the parade and art programs of the tri-army soldiers and school and college students. As the rehearsals are scheduled to be held on the 22nd and 24th, traffic has been changed in the Marina beach areas. It is worth noting that traffic has also been changed on Republic Day.
No vehicle will be allowed on Chennai’s Kamarajar Road from Gandhi statue to War Memorial from 6 am till the end of the program. Goods and commercial vehicles from Adyar area to Broadway on Kamaraj Road from Greenways Road Junction to R.K. The roads leading to Broadway are Matha Road, Thiruvenkattam Road, Devanathan Road, St. Mary’s Road, Ramakrishna Matha Road, Venkatesh Agrakaram Street, Ranga Road, East Abhiramapuram First Street, Luz Avenue Amirthansan Junction, P.S. Sivasamy Road, Radhakrishnan Road, Music Academy, T.D.K. Broadway can be accessed via road, Claudia Mud Road Rayapettah Hospital, Rayapettah Clock Tower, General Patters Road, Annasalai. Other vehicles going towards Broadway from Adyar area take Kamarajar Road, Gandhi Sila Junction to Radhakrishnan Road, Tiruppattu Rayapettah 1st Point, Neil Greece, Music Academy, D.D.K. Broadway can be accessed via road, Claudia Mud Road, Rayapettah Hospital, Rayapettah Manikondu, General Patters Road, Annasalai.
All vehicles coming from Mylapore area take the Rayapettah Highway and at Rayapettah 1st point, other vehicles can take a left or right turn to reach their destination. City buses turn left on Dr. Radhakrishnan Road, Nilgris, Music Academy. T.D.K. Broadway can be reached via Road, Claudia Matha Road, Rayapettah Highway, Rayapettah Clock Tower. Vehicles coming towards Kamaraj Road via Dr. Natesan Road and Avvai Shanmugam Road junction will be diverted towards Ice Outs junction.
Vehicles coming towards Kamaraj Road from Dr. Besant Road will be diverted towards Ice Outs at Besant Road roundabout. Vehicles coming towards Kamaraj Road will be diverted towards Bells Road at Bharathisala and Bells Road junction. At Walajasalai and Bells Road junction, vehicles coming towards Labour Statue will be diverted from Bells Road. The bus stop near Anna Sadukkam will be temporarily shifted near Sinthadiripet Railway Station. All vehicles proceeding from Barimuna towards Adyar via Rajaji Road and Kamaraj Road shall not take Reserve Bank Subway and shall take North Harbour Road via Raja Annamalai Monram, Walaja Point, Annasalai. Turn left at Annachalai, G.P. Road, Rayapettah, West Ghats Road, G.R.H., Ajantha Junction Lloyds Road (V.P. Raman Road). Justice Jambulingam Street Left (A) Turn right and reach your destination via Dr. Radhakrishnan Road. Vehicular traffic is not permitted from the intersection of Anna Road and Kodimara Ella Road (Walaja Point) towards War Memorial.
