Goods train derails in Jharsuguda

Jharsuguda: As many as three wagons of a coal-laden goods train reportedly derailed at the Belpahar rail gate in Jharsuguda district of Odisha on Saturday.
According to reports, the goods train was reportedly going on the Howrah-Nagpur railway route when it derailed at the Belpahar rail gate this evening.
Though there was no any large-scale damage or casualties or injuries due to the derailment of the goods train, it disrupted both rail and road movement for some time.
Soon, the concerned authorities closed the Belpahar level crossing in order to carry out the restoration work. The technical teams were also sent to the spot to assist in the restoration work.
As the Belpahar level crossing was closed, vehicular movement was heavily affected in the area due to which people were forced to take longer alternate routes to reach their destinations.
On the other hand, the exact reason behind the derailment of the goods train at the Belpahar level crossing is yet to be known.
