Goods train derailed, Korba railway line affected
Korba. The fifth coach of a goods train carrying coal from Manikpur mine to Balco derailed between Sharda Vihar and TP Nagar gate in Korba. The wheel of the goods train kept moving for some distance after derailing. Due to this, both the track and the wheel got damaged. As soon as the driver saw this, he immediately stopped the goods train and informed the railway management. Sharda Vihar gate was closed at the time of the incident. After derailing, the goods train got stuck in the middle of the gate.
As soon as the information of the incident was received, a crowd of people gathered at the gate and everyone started creating a ruckus. Initially, people were not aware of the derailment. When the gate man informed the people about this, the matter calmed down.
According to the local people, there is a lot of traffic of goods trains at Sharda Vihar gate. Due to this, the gate remains closed for a long time, due to which people have to face trouble in movement. Local people have demanded an underbridge many times.
