Goods train accident in Andhra Pradesh, more than 25 wagons derailed

Chimidipalli: In yet another train related accident, there has been derailment of a goods train in Andhra Pradesh in which as many as 25 wagons have been derailed.

According to reports, as many as 25 wagons of the train with 50 derailed near Chimidipalli rail station in the Araku-Kottavalasa section under Waltair Division today. The news was confirmed by the East Coast Railway (ECoR).

Immediate restoration work was initiated. A relief train was sent to help in the restoration operations.

Some passenger trains between Visakhapatnam and Kirandul have been diverted via Vizianagaram in Andhra and Rayagada in Odisha, further informed the East Coast Railway.
