Good Governance Day will be celebrated on 25th December, the birth anniversary of Atal Bihari Vajpayee

Raipur. December 25, the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister of India Bharat Ratna Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee, will be celebrated as ‘Good Governance Day’. On the instructions of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, on the occasion of Good Governance Day, a bonus amount of Rs 3716 crore 38 lakh 96 thousand will be paid to the farmers of the state for the outstanding paddy of Kharif marketing year 2014-15 and 2015-16. To encourage farmers producing paddy, the state government has also made provision of funds for incentive scheme on paddy production in its supplementary budget.

On the occasion of Good Governance Day, the program will be inaugurated at 10 am in the Atal Chowk established in urban bodies in the dignified presence of elected public representatives and general public. At Atal Chowk, the elected representatives and the general public will take a pledge to ‘establish good governance’ by garlanding the photograph of former Prime Minister of India Bharat Ratna Late Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee and lighting the lamp. For this, the state government has given instructions to clean and carry out necessary repairs of the already constructed Atal Pillar in the urban bodies before December 25. This cleanliness campaign will be organized in urban bodies starting from December 25 for the next one week.

On the occasion of Good Governance Day, Atal Sandhya will be organized in all the urban bodies of the state. Under this, poet’s conference, poetry reading of Atal ji, Atal thought seminar, essay competition and exhibition focusing on the life, personality and work of Atal ji will be organised.
