Gold necklace stolen in train, retired officer complains

Bilaspur. In the Bhopal-Durg Amarkantak Express, miscreants cut the bag of retired PHE officer of Bhopal with a blade and handed over his wife’s jewelry in the moving train. He had to get down at Uslapur station in Bilaspur. So, in a hurry, he did not notice the bag. When he reached his daughter’s house, the bag was found cut and ornaments worth five lakh including gold necklace and bracelet were found missing. On his complaint, the GRP has registered a case and started investigation.

Bhopal resident LR Soni is a retired assistant engineer of Public Health Engineering Department (PHE). He was traveling with his wife in A-2 coach in Amarkantak Express on Sunday. He was to get down at Uslapur station, from where he had to go to Minocha Colony to meet his daughter. The train reached Uslapur station and both took off the bags and went to the daughter’s house. After going there, he opened the black colored bag and then his senses flew away. The box kept inside the bag was found. The same bag was found cut with blood. The box contained a gold necklace and two pairs of bracelets worth five lakh rupees.

Seeing the bag, he understood the matter. The miscreants had cleverly cut the bag and passed the box. After this incident, he along with his son-in-law reached the GRP police station and informed about the theft. GRP has registered a case on his complaint. Along with this, the GRP, while starting the investigation, is scanning the CCTV footage from Kargi Road to Uslapur station.
