Ghatkopar: Illegal Gutkha worth Rs 21 lakh seized, two arrested

Maharashtra: Tilak Nagar police have seized two tempos coming to Mumbai from Gujarat with gutkha from Chheda Nagar area of ​​Ghatkopar. Police seized gutkha worth Rs 21 lakh from these two tempos and arrested both the tempo drivers in this case. Gutkha is banned in the state. Tilak Nagar police had received information that two tempos were coming to Mumbai from Gujarat with a large quantity of gutkha. Police also came to know that these tempos were going from Chheda Nagar of Ghatkopar towards Mankhurd.

So the police laid a trap in Chheda Nagar junction area on Monday night. At this time two tempos of the same type entered Chheda Nagar area. Police stopped both the tempos and checked them. A large stock of gutkha of various companies banned by the state government was found in these tempos. Police immediately detained both the tempo drivers and questioned them. They told the police that this gutkha was brought from Gujarat. Police have arrested both the tempo drivers, Abdul Qadri (30) and Akash Hatrale (30), and have seized both the tempos.
