Ganja worth lakhs smuggled in luxury car, 3 smugglers arrested
Dhamtari. Police have arrested three youths from Uttar Pradesh who were smuggling ganja in a luxury car. Police have seized 60 kg of ganja and car from the accused and registered a crime. After presenting them in the court, all three accused have been sent to jail. Police station in-charge Purur Shishupal Sinha said that on February 7, the police received information from an informer that three youths were coming through Kondagaon and Keshkal area hiding ganja in a car.
The police team immediately started checking the vehicles coming and going on the highway near the Durga temple in village Jagtra to catch the smugglers. During this time, three youths were coming in a white car. When the police asked to stop the car, the three youths left the car and started running away. The police immediately chased the youth and detained them. When the police checked the car, 60 kg of ganja was seized inside the car. This ganja was sealed in 10 packets in the car. Mobile, car and ganja were seized from the accused. The police have registered a crime against the three accused.
The arrested accused include Vikas Gupta, 24, of Khutarkhas district, Shahjahanupar, Uttar Pradesh, Ravi Kashyap, 27, of Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh and Aanchal Saxena, 30, of Rajajipuram police station, Talkatora, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. The accused told the police that they were taking the ganja to Uttar Pradesh. In arresting the ganja smugglers, Purur police station in-charge inspector Shishupal Sinha, police officer Ajay Shankar Avinashi, constables Likhan Sahu, Kishore Sahu, Sandeep Yadav, Gunesh Yadav, Suresh Patel, Chhotu Sonkar, lady constable Pushpalata Sahu along with Cyber Cell Balod in-charge sub-inspector Jogendra Sahu, Constable Mithlesh Yadav played the role.
