Ganja smuggling worth lakhs in Raipur, 5 smugglers arrested
Raipur. Senior Superintendent of Police Prashant Aggarwal has given necessary guidelines to all the police gazetted officers of Raipur Police, including station in-charges, in-charge anti-crime and cyber units, to detect and effectively curb the black drug trade and to take action against them. . On which all the police gazetted officers, station in-charges and the team of anti-crime and cyber units are collecting information regarding drug dealers by employing informers, patrolling and collecting information. To take effective action under the Narcotics Act, a Narcotics Cell has been formed under the leadership of Additional Superintendent of Police, Crime, through which people suspected of buying, selling and supplying narcotics are being continuously monitored.
In this connection, on the basis of the intelligence received, 03 accused were arrested for smuggling ganja in 02 four-wheelers by the joint team of Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit and police station Muzgahan. About 45.500 kg of ganja and 02 cars used in ganja smuggling, Altroz number CG/27/M/4986 and Venue number CG/17/KU/8864 have been seized from them. Ganja was transported by the accused from Orissa to Raipur for the purpose of selling it. Among the arrested accused, 01 accused is resident of Orissa, 01 accused is resident of Rewa (MP) and 01 accused is resident of Kondagaon. The accused are being interrogated in advance and action is being taken against them in Muzgahan police station under the Narcotics Act.
Similarly, on the basis of the intelligence received, a joint team of Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit and Police Station Mandir Hassaud cordoned off a Santro car near Chhatauna Chowk under Mandir Hassaud police station area and searched it, in which about 70 kg of ganja was found to be transported. Two accused traveling in the car, who are residents of Orissa, have been arrested. In this case, 70 kg of ganja and 01 Centro car number CG/04/H/5509 used in ganja smuggling have been seized and action is being taken against the accused under the Narcotics Act in Police Station Mandir Hasaud.

- Ajay Verma Father Bhaiya Lal Verma Age 31 years Address – Village Basrehi Post Basrehi Police Station Atraila District Reenwa (Madhya Pradesh).
- Shushankar Trader Father Sushant Trader Age 37 years Hall Address- Sector 02, M. No. 136 Kamal Vihar Near Shiv Mandir Raipur Permanent Address- Singarpur Camp, Village Borgaon Police Station Farsgaon District Kondagaon.
Arrested accused (in the case of Police Station Mandir Hasaud) - Sukalu Chhura, father Rameshwar Chhura, age 40 years, resident of village Chandutara police station Shinde Kala district Balangir Orissa.
- Rare Athjwar, father Kalia Athjwar, age 40 years, Sakin village Chando Tola police station Shindekela Orissa.
The action was taken by a joint team under the guidance of Additional Superintendent of Police Rural Neeraj Chandrakar, Additional Superintendent of Police Crime Pitamber Singh Patel, Additional Superintendent of Police Atal Nagar Nava Raipur Jitendra Chandrakar and Deputy Superintendent of Police Crime Dinesh Sinha.
In the said proceedings, Deputy Superintendent of Police Sumit Gupta, in-charge of Muzgahan police station, Inspector Virendra Chandra in-charge of Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit, Inspector Rohit Malekar, in-charge of Mandir Hasaud police station and Sub-Inspector Sikandar Kurre from Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit, Souni. Kishore Seth, Jamil Khan, Mangleshwar Singh Parihar, P.R. Anil Pandey, Gurudayal Singh, Upendra Yadav, Ashish Trivedi, R. Kamal Dhangar, Alam Baig, Rakesh Soni, Anil Rajput, Tikam Sahu, Tukesh Nishad, Amit Ghritalhare and Suresh Deshmukh played important roles.
