Ganja found during search of house, woman arrested

Raigarh. Tamnar police took action against illegal drug trade and seized 1.828 kg of illegal ganja from the house of Smt. Khirmati Sahu, a resident of village Tamnar. This action was taken on the basis of information received by the police station in-charge inspector Ashirwad Rahatgaonkar from the informer. According to the information, the accused was selling ganja by keeping it in her house. The police team searched the house of the accused in the presence of female police personnel and witnesses, in which she admitted to hiding the ganja in a plastic polythene under the bed. The weight of the recovered ganja was found to be 1.828 kg, whose estimated price is ₹ 7500. During interrogation, the accused told that she had kept it for illegal sale.

The police took immediate action and seized the ganja and registered a case against the accused under section 20 (B) NDPS Act. This entire operation was led by police station in-charge inspector Ashirwad Rahatgaonkar. Along with him, the team of Assistant Sub Inspector Narsingh Yadav, Head Constable Usharani Tirki, Constable Purushottam Sidar, Anoop Minj and Pushpendra Sidar made this operation successful.

The action of Tamnar Police is an important step towards strictly banning illegal drug trade and maintaining law and order.
