Gang stealing mobile phones from passengers at ST station caught: 43 sets seized
Maharashtra: Swargate police have arrested a thief who stole mobile phones of passengers at Swargate ST station. Police have also arrested the shopkeeper who bought the stolen mobile phones. 43 mobile phones and laptops worth Rs 7.43 lakh have been seized from him. The arrested thief has been identified as Satish Dnyaneshwar Shirole (age 32, resident of Dahitane, Tal. Daund). Shopkeeper Mohd Shahid Ilyas Ansari (age 34, resident of Ashrafnagar, Kondhwa) who bought stolen mobile phones from Shirole has been arrested. Incidents of theft of mobile sets of passengers were happening at Swargate ST station. Shirole was stopped in Swagat PMP station area.
Investigation team staff noticed his suspicious movements. He fled after the police moved away. Police chased him and caught him. During interrogation, accused Satish Shirole confessed to stealing three mobile sets from Swargate, Pune station area. 43 mobiles, sets and laptops were seized from him. Shirole is a habitual thief and has six cases registered against him. Zone 2 Deputy Commissioner of Police Smartana Patil, Assistant Commissioner Rahul Aware, Senior Police Inspector Yuvaraj Nandre of Swargate Police Station, Assistant Inspector Rahul Kolambikar, Sub Inspector Ravindra Kasapate, Ashruba Morale, Sachin Tanpure, Sujay Pawar, Deepak Khendad, Harshal Shinde, Firoz Sheikh, Hanumant Dudhe, Ramesh Chavan, Prashant Tonpe, Sandeep Ghule did this feat.
