Gang rape of minor, 2 accused arrested
Rajnandgaon. Two accused have been arrested and sent to jail in the gang rape case of a minor girl in Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh. Both the accused had committed a shameful incident by kidnapping a mentally weak girl. When the girl became pregnant, the family came to know about it. After the complaint of the family members, the police arrested two accused and sent them to jail. The incident took place in Gandtola police station area. In fact, the mother of the victim minor girl wrote a complaint on April 27 that her minor daughter, whose mental condition is not well, is undergoing treatment.
In the same month during Navratri, when his daughter’s stomach started growing and pain started, she got her checkup done. During sonography, the doctor told the girl to be pregnant. When the victim girl was interrogated, it was revealed that in the month of October 2023, she had gone to the field with her sister to harvest paddy. Then Saurabh Kanwar and Doman Kanwar of the village came near the farm on a motorcycle and pressed the victim’s mouth with the maid of her farm and forcibly made her sit on the motorcycle and took her to a nearby hill. Here the accused forcibly raped her and threatened to kill her if she told anyone about the incident. Not only this, she was forcibly raped on different dates.
When sonography of the victim’s stomach was done in Rajnandgaon, the doctor informed that the child would be spoiled and the victim would not be able to become a mother due to her young age. After which the family consented and got the girl aborted. In this case, the police registered a crime against the accused in the police station on the report of rape of the victim by Saurabh Kanwar and Doman Kanwar under sections 363, 366 (A), 376 (D), 506 IPC and 4, 6 POCSO Act. The crime was registered and taken under investigation. Seeing the seriousness of the matter, SP Mohit Garg gave instructions for immediate action. While taking action in the case, Gandtola police station arrested Saurabh alias Bhuru Kanwar, 20 years, Doman Kanwar, 26 years, residents of village Belargondi, Gandtola police station. The accused were arrested and presented before the court, from where the accused were sent to jail in judicial custody.
