Gambling worth lakhs was played near petrol pump, 42 gamblers arrested
Surajpur. Kotwali police has taken action against a big gambling scam going on near the petrol pump located in village Shivprasad Nagar of Surajpur district. The police team raided and arrested 42 gamblers. A cash amount of Rs 6 lakh 51 thousand 600 has been seized from them and action has been taken against them under the Chhattisgarh Gambling Prohibition Act. 42 mobile phones, 3 cars and other material have also been seized from the gamblers. On the night of 3 February, the Kotwali police received information from an informer that a large number of gamblers were gambling near the petrol pump located in village Shivprasadnagar.
As soon as the information was received, a police team of Surajpur and Vishrampur police stations was formed under the leadership of Additional SP Superintendent Shobhraj Aggarwal and sent for action. A joint team of police laid siege near the petrol pump located in Shivprasad Nagar and caught 42 gamblers red handed while gambling. Inter-district gamblers were also caught in this police action.
The arrested gamblers include Sunil Shivhare resident of Laxmipur Ambikapur, Nirmal Singh resident of village Gangoti Basdei, Mahendra Sahu village Sonpur Basdei, Hasnain Raza village Bhanwrahi Basdei, Shivkumar Singh resident of Tilsiwanpara Bhatgaon, Shyam Sundar Gupta Jarhi, Daleshwar Rajwade village Salka, Rajeshwar Prasad Sahu village Badsara, Suresh Kushwaha village Parri, Deepak Singh village Parri, Tuleshwar Ram village Jarhadih Raghunathpur, Shivkumar Vishwakarma village Salka, Satyendra Sidar village Salka Udaipur, Neeraj Jaiswal village Salka Udaipur, Kamlesh Sahu village Sarna Raghunathnagar, Ramprasad Rajwade village Gajadharpur Latoree, Vipin Haldhar village Sargawan Ambikapur. . Pankra Darripara Ambikapur, Khurshid Alam Village Karwan Latoree, Rahul Singh Ambikapur, Nandulal Pankra Village Mohali Jhilmili, Sujit Gupta Manipur Ambikapur, Alam Khan Village Dandgaon Udaipur, Raju Singh Village Dandgaon Udaipur, Ajay Tirkey Ambikapur, Sajid Ansari Village Batwahi Lundra, Mohammad Tahir Village Bhavarahi Basdei, Jai Prakash Sahu village Badsara Jhilmili, Avinash Ekka Gandhinagar Ambikapur, Hadish Ansari village Sonpur Basdei, Sushil Sahu village Badsara Jhilmili, Pritam Dubey village Badsara and Vikas Minj village Bhakura Ambikapur.
Police have seized Rs 6 lakh 51 thousand 600, 42 mobile phones, 3 cars, 8 sets of 52 playing cards from gamblers and fraudsters. Action has been taken against everyone under Section 4, 5 of the Chhattisgarh Gambling Prohibition Act. Police station incharge Surajpur Vimlesh Dubey, police station incharge Vishrampur Alaric Lakra, head constable Mohammad Talib Sheikh, Jaiprakash Tiwari, Rahul Gupta, constable Laxmi Narayan Mirre, Akhilesh Pandey, Pramod Singh, Sameshwar, Sanjeev Rajwade and Shailendra Singh were active in the action.
