Gadwal: Congress workers climbed mobile tower, protested against entry of BRS leaders into the party
Gadwal: A tense situation prevailed in the town when a local Congress worker climbed a mobile tower and threatened to jump off, protesting against his joining the party. There are reports that the BRS MLA is planning to join the Congress. However, Zilla Parishad president Saritha, who lost against the BRS MLA in the assembly elections, is opposing his joining the Congress. In this regard, she recently met Nagarkurnool MP Mallu Ravi and asked him to put pressure on the party leadership not to allow the BRS MLA to enter.
As part of this, one of his supporters Prasad, who is around 25 years old, climbed a mobile network tower at Nallagunta in the town. He threatened to jump off if the Congress leadership encouraged the BRS MLAs to enter the party. Party workers accompanying him staged a protest on the tower and raised slogans against the BRS MLA. Police reached the spot after being informed by local residents and appealed to Prasad not to take any extreme step. At a time when the Congress leadership in Telangana is encouraging defections, especially from the Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS), local leaders are protesting their entry. Similar protests were staged by local Congress leaders in Banswada and Jagital after the entry of BRS MLAs Pocharam Srinivas Reddy and Dr Sanjay Kumar.
