Four poachers arrested for killing melanistic tiger in Similipal Tiger Reserve

Mayurbhanj: In a disheartening incident, poachers have killed the rare melanistic tiger at Similipal Tiger Reserve. Police has arrested four poachers in this regard while the mastermind is on a run.

According to information, the poachers killed the rare melanistic tiger in order to sell the tiger’s skin. The forest officials have nabbed four miscreants in this matter. They were arrested from Dukura forest range and Dubalakhunta forest range.

Earlier, forest officials had arrested two men for possessing nails and teeth of tigers. They were detained and enquired following two others were arrested. The Similipal Tiger Reserve (STR) authorities have not disclosed the entire proceeding to nab the mastermind behind the poaching.
