Four people, including a five-year-old child, died in separate accidents in Palakkad and Alappuzha.

PALAKKAD: Four including a five-year-old child were killed in accidents that happened in Palakkad and Alappuzha. A woman and a child were killed in a collision between a tipper lorry and a scooter at Lakkidi in Ottapalam. The dead were identified as Sharanya of Thiruvilwamala and her five-year-old daughter Adisree. Their relative Mohandas, who was riding the scooter, was seriously injured. The accident occurred while Sharanya was on her way to her husband’s house. When reached Lakkidi, a tipper lorry coming from the same direction hit the scooter and ran over the two. It is suspected that the tipper lorry was speeding. They were admitted to the Taluk Hospital in Ottapalam, but their lives could not be saved.
Two youths died in a collision between bikes at Valavanad in Alappuzha yesterday. One youth was seriously injured. The dead were identified as Nikhil (19) of Kambiyakath House in Mannanchery and Rakesh (25) of Kochiravili House at Areeparambu in Cherthala. Rakesh’s friend Vipin was seriously injured. The accident occurred near the Valavanad A S Canal-Parathara bridge at around 10:30 pm last night. Rakesh and his friend Vipin were on a bike. The two were taken to the hospital, but their lives could not be saved.
A mini bus carrying Sabarimala pilgrims lost control at Thulapally in Pathanamthitta and collided with another bus and two cars, injuring ten people. They were taken out by cutting off the bus. The accident happened Monday morning at around 7:30. The driver sustained serious injuries.
