Four killed in two-car collision in Andhra Pradesh

Amaravati (IANS) | Four people were killed and four others injured in a road accident in Andhra Pradesh’s Annamayya district. The accident occurred after a head-on collision between two cars on the Chittoor-Kadapa National Highway near Kothapalli cross in Ramapuram mandal in the early hours of Sunday.

Four people, including two women, died in the accident, while four others were injured. The police have admitted the injured to the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Cuddapah. The deceased have been identified as Lakshmamma, Chinnakka, Narsaiah and the car driver Raja Reddy.

Lakshmamma of Budvel in YSR Cuddapah district was paralyzed and her family members were taking her to Virupakshapuram in Chittoor district for treatment in a car. However, the car in which they were traveling rammed into another car coming from the opposite direction near Kothapalli Crossing.

Lakshmamma, her son Narsaiah and driver Raja Reddy died on the spot. Two other relatives Chinnakka and Harshvardhan were seriously injured. Chinnaka succumbed to his injuries during treatment at the hospital.

Three people traveling in a car going from Rayachoti to Cuddapah were injured in the accident. He was admitted to RIMS Cuddapah.
