Four killed in gunfight between Kuki rebel group, village volunteers in Manipur

Manipur: Atleast four people were killed during a clash between militants and village volunteers from the same community in Manipur’s Tengnoupal district.

The gunfight broke out on Friday between a militant from the United Kuki Liberation Front (UKLF) and three village volunteers in the Molnom area, resulting in fire where four people lost their lives.

As per officials, the gunfight broke from a dispute over control of levy in the Pallel area, even another news have come up where the Kuki village volunteers, home secretary was abducted. The villagers even set fire to UKLF’s self-styled chairman, S S Haokip’s residence.

Later, the officials said that the situation is under control and security forces conducted search operations in the affected area. However, no arrest has been made so far.
