Four car manufacturers in South Korea recalled more than 50 thousand vehicles
SEOUL: Mercedes-Benz Korea, Stellantis Korea and two other carmakers have announced the recall of more than 50,000 vehicles due to faulty components. The Transport Ministry gave this information here on Thursday. The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said in a statement that four companies, including Honda Motor and Jaguar Land-Rover Korea, are voluntarily recalling a total of 50,760 units of 62 different models, Yonhap news agency reported. The problems that have led to the recall include software problems in the gearbox control unit of Mercedes-Benz’s GLE 450 4Matic SUV, a faulty control arm in Stellantis’ Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV and a faulty control arm in Honda’s Accord sedan, the statement said. The seat contains a faulty circuit board. “Vehicle owners can check on the government’s homepage www.car.go.kr or by calling 080-357-2500 to see if their vehicle has also been recalled,” the ministry said. In November last year, Mercedes-Benz Korea and three other car companies recalled more than 10 thousand vehicles due to faulty components. The ministry had said the companies, including BMW Group Korea, Volkswagen Group Korea and domestic electrified van maker Zeiss Mobility. They voluntarily recalled a total of 10,981 units of 20 different models.
