Former sub-inspector of Nandankanan police station gets rigorous imprisonment

Bhubaneswar: Amin Khan, the former Sub-Inspector of Nandankanan police station (now retired), was convicted by Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar, has been sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of four years and to pay fine of Rs 10,000.

Khan was charge sheeted by Odisha Vigilance in a case U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d)/7 PC Act,1988 for demanding and taking bribe from a owner of vehicle to release his seized tractor and trailer.

Further, the convict Amin Khan, was sent to jail custody to serve his sentence.

Odisha Vigilance will now move the competent authority for stoppage of pension of the former Sub-Inspector following his conviction.

Brahmananda Naik, ex-Inspector, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar Division had investigated the case and Salila Kumar Pradhan and Biswa Ranjan Rout, Special PPs and Soumitra Ghosh, APP, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar jointly conducted the case on behalf of the prosecution.
