Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s sister-in-law Sita Soren joins BJP

Jharkhand: Former Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s sister-in-law and JMM MLA Sita Soren joined BJP on Tuesday.

He left the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) hours before joining the BJP, claiming that he was being neglected and isolated in the state’s ruling party.
Soren joined the BJP in the presence of national general secretary Vinod Tawde and Jharkhand election in-charge Laxmikant Bajpai at the BJP headquarters here.
The three-time MLA’s decision to join the BJP is a blow to the party’s efforts to boost its connect with the Scheduled Tribes, a community that has been JMM’s main vote base.
