Forest department raided a saw mill in Durg, recovered wood worth Rs 15 lakh

Durg. The forest department has taken action against the illegal saw mill, from where wood worth 10 lakhs and a machine worth 5 lakhs have been confiscated. DFO Deepesh Kapil said that three days ago, information was received about an illegal saw mill being operated in Gudhiyari of Patan. The team was sent. A wood cutting machine and a large amount of wood were seized from there.
Investigation revealed that the saw mill was being run by a person named Raja Tiwari. He has rented the land from Ajay Tiwari. During interrogation, Raja told that he does not have any documents related to the saw mill and wood.
After this, the seizure action took three days. The wood was lifted with a JCB. The machine has been uprooted and kept in the depot. The DFO said that the saw mill was running illegally for the last two years. Action will also be taken against the operator.
