Food department raids hotel, samples taken for sweets
Balodabazar. In view of the festive season, the Food and Drug Administration Department in the district is inspecting grocery shops, hotels and dhabas and taking action against substandard food items to protect consumers from adulteration. In this connection, Food Safety Officer Kanchan Verma said that samples of peda and namkeen were taken from Yadav Sales located in Kasdol city, along with the moldy rasgulla was destroyed on the spot.
In Ghanshyam Hotel, non-edible color was used in jalebi and gujiya and it was found unsafe in the investigation. Along with this, Khushi Dhaba, Raj Dhaba, Gujarati Sweets were inspected where strict instructions were given for cleanliness after dirt was found. Along with this, samples of peda, namkeen, semolina and maida were taken on which further action will be taken after the investigation report. 41 food items were tested on the spot through mobile food testing lab.
