Durg. A case of defrauding e-commerce company Flipkart of Rs 45 lakh by the area manager and employee along with their colleagues has come to the fore. Acting swiftly, the police arrested five people and seized goods worth Rs 38 lakh. Police is also trying to recover the remaining goods.
According to the information received from the police, the warehouse of Flipkart is in Dhamdha in Durg district, from where the Flipkart company sends all the items of the customers who order goods online, then it is dumped in the warehouse of Dhamdha in Durg district, its details is taken out and scanned, after that the goods are given to all the delivery boys, after which the boys deliver the company’s goods on the basis of the address on the box written in the parcel. Amar Mandal, a resident of Jamul, was working as a manager in this warehouse, which opened about a month ago, Arvind, a resident of Kohka, was also working with him in the warehouse. According to the police, both had done the job of the warehouse with the intention of grabbing the goods coming for delivery. Apart from Monika, a resident of Rajnandgaon, both of them also included their three more friends Deepak, Manish and Lokesh.
All together ordered 120 mobiles and expensive laptops to Flipkart from more than 50 accounts of their friends and relatives, all orders were given in cash on delivery mode. In this case, the mastermind Amar Mandal used his friend Rahul’s Aadhaar card to make him the delivery boy of the warehouse, while Rahul did not even know that when all the goods arrived, the entire goods were delivered in the name of Rahul. Showed him to leave and took him to Monika’s house in Rajnandgaon on the night of 21 May. Scanned from mobile in Monica’s house, the entire goods were shown to be delivered. On the other hand, saying that the money has passed, making an excuse of night, told to deposit it the next day. But when the money was not received the next day, the police was informed.
Dhamdha TI Somesh Singh Baghel told that a person named Ankit of Bhilai’s Nehru Nagar was a regular customer of electronic items from this company, this time he had bought about 8 mobiles, apart from this, these people installed 80 mobile bases in Tilda. 5 people have been arrested, the search is on for the rest. TI said that the accused had stolen goods worth about Rs 45 lakh from the company, out of which goods worth about Rs 38 lakh have been recovered.
