Flaws in CBI investigation of Viveka murder case: Cuddapah MP

VIJAYAWADA: Asserting that he is innocent and has nothing to do with the murder of former minister YS Vivekananda Reddy five years ago, Kadapa MP YS Avinash Reddy said he and his family have been living under false charges for the last three years. Are suffering.

Refuting point by point N Sunitha, her cousin and YS Vivekananda Reddy’s daughter, who made shocking allegations against Avinash on Monday, the Kadapa MP said he was unable to understand why he and his family were deliberately targeted.

Rejecting Sunita and YS Sharmila’s claims that there was a feud going on between their family and YS Vivekananda Reddy’s family, Avinash Reddy said that nothing could be further from the truth. “If this were true then why would Viveka uncle campaign for me? Most importantly, why would I be contacted so soon after his death,” he asked.
He further said that the CBI investigation has been compromised and is full of lapses. “How can a person, who testified that he had committed murder, be made a government witness and be allowed to roam free on bail? How can Sunita’s statements keep changing in front of CBI and SIT? He asked question.

Elaborating further, Avinash in his opening statement said that Sunita said that she came to know about the letter found at the crime scene from her husband N Rajasekhara Reddy, which was purportedly written by her father in which the driver Prasad was mentioned as the suspected killer. “She told the CBI that it was sent to her husband through Vivekananda Reddy’s PA Krishna Reddy. He further said that he fears and suspects that this letter may have been fabricated to incriminate Prasad and that he may be murdered after the letter comes out.” However, he made a U-turn from his statement after a month. and distanced himself from the issue of the letter

Recalling the incident on the day, Avinash Reddy said that when he was going to Jammalamadugu for election campaign, he got a call from Shivaprakash Reddy, who is the real brother of Vivekananda Reddy’s wife Saubhagyamma, informing him about the death of Viveka sir. Has occurred. And asked him to come. “I got the call around 6.26 am and reached there at 6.30 am. Went inside, saw the body, came out and informed the police, and expressed his suspicion,” he explained.

According to him, Yerragangi Reddy came at 7.10 in the morning and by that time hundreds of people were present there. “Why would I steal evidence? If that were my intention, wouldn’t I have done it when I reached there and there were only a few people there? Avinash said, by making illogical allegations, I am being dragged into a case which has nothing to do with me.
On Google Takeout being shown as evidence, he said that Google itself says that this program is unreliable and can also be fabricated. He observed that the investigation was being conducted on hearsay about Dastagiri, who was prima facie an accused. He also disputed the records of WhatsApp messages that night and said he was sleeping at that time and had not paid attention to the phone. “Even when my mobile is in ideal condition, there are messages on it and none of them were from Gangireddy and there were no outgoing messages,” Avinash said.
He said that the statement of P Rajasekhar, who worked in the house of Vivekananda Reddy, clearly shows that A1 to A4 in the case were very close to the former minister and after the murder, Saubhagyamma had forced them to go to Kanipakkam. “Furthermore, it was clear that for two years before his murder, Viveka uncle was neglected by his family and was under stress to the extent that he consumed alcohol and cigarettes excessively,” the Kadapa MP said. “
On the issue of heart attack, Avinash said that he never said so and the statement given by Sunita and her husband to the SIT states that Krishna Reddy had informed them about Viveka’s death and that there were injury marks on the body. Viveka’s body was lying in the bathroom. Since Viveka was a heart patient, they assumed that he might have died of heart failure and asked Krishna Reddy to tell him. He alleged, “It was Sunita and her husband who had hidden the evidence and facts.”
The Kadapa MP also said that there was never any issue regarding the Lok Sabha seat. “I was made the Kadapa MP in 2014 and again in 2019. Even a day before his death, Viveka uncle campaigned for me and went door to door in 300 houses asking people to vote for his sons – Jagan and Avinash, who are like Ram Laxman. I don’t understand where all these illogical allegations are coming from.
Avinash alleged that his cousins Sharmila and Sunita were reading TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu’s script and working as per his instructions.
