Fire safety awareness classes at 384 fire stations in Tamil Nadu

Tamil Nadu: A massive awareness campaign is being run in Tamil Nadu regarding fire prevention and safety. In this sequence, fire safety awareness classes have been organized at 384 fire stations in the state. This campaign is part of the public awareness programs conducted from time to time by the Tamil Nadu Fire and Rescue Services Department, aimed at training people on fire prevention and taking appropriate steps in case of emergency.
Information has been given by the department that this program has been organized for two days. On the first day, on Saturday (June 6), fire safety awareness classes were conducted at all 384 fire stations in the state, in which people were informed about rescue measures, first response and use of safety equipment in case of fire.
Similar awareness classes will be organized on the second day i.e. Sunday (7th June). The timing of these classes has been scheduled from 11 am to 12 noon and from 4 pm to 5 pm. During this, fire department officials and trained personnel will teach people practical methods of fire prevention and give information on measures to stay safe in various emergency situations.
Tamil Nadu Fire and Rescue Services Department has appealed to the people to visit their nearest fire stations and participate in these awareness classes and get important safety related information. The department says that only aware citizens can reduce the loss of life and property by taking right decisions at the time of disaster.
According to officials, these types of training programs help in strengthening the security capability of people in both rural and urban areas. Such awareness becomes even more important especially in view of the increase in incidents of fire during the summer season.
During the program, the participants are being explained in detail about the common causes of fire, home safety measures, precautions related to gas cylinders and ways to prevent electrical fire incidents. Besides, training is also being given on the correct use of fire extinguishers.
Tamil Nadu Fire Department has also said that this campaign is not limited to just two days, but in future also such awareness programs will be conducted continuously so that more and more people can become aware of the safety measures.
