Fire broke out in blanket and bedsheet warehouse, extinguished after 2 hours of effort

Durg. A fire broke out in the house of a blanket and bedsheet merchant in the mat quarter located at Power House Camp-2 in Bhilai late on Tuesday night. As soon as information about the fire was received, the fire department team from Durg reached the spot. The fire was brought under control after 2 hours of hard work.

According to the information, a fire was reported in the mat quarter located at Power House Camp-2, Bhilai on Tuesday night. The cantonment police immediately informed and called the fire brigade. The fire brigade reached the spot and controlled the fire with the help of water and foam.

The house which caught fire belongs to a blanket and bedsheet businessman. He had made a godown in that house itself. Cantonment police station in-charge Sonal Gwala said that they had received information about the fire around 8.30 pm on Tuesday night.

He immediately sent a team to the spot and informed the Durg fire department. The fire brigade arrived within half an hour of receiving the information. By then the local people tried to extinguish the fire in the room built in the mat quarter. People first broke the cement sheet lying on the quarter. After this, an attempt was made to extinguish the fire by pouring water from above.
