Fire breaks out at Vrindavan Society in Thane; no injuries reported

Maharashtra: A fire broke out in a residential apartment in Vrindavan Society, Thane (West) on Friday evening. According to the Disaster Management Cell of the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC), the incident was reported on March 6, 2026, at around 5:32 p.m.
The fire broke out in Room No. 02 on the ground floor of A2 wing of Building No. 73, owned by Mr. Ashok Semla.
Initial investigations indicate that the fire started in a washing machine and then spread to other appliances.
Quick Response and Damage Assessment: Local residents demonstrated commendable alertness by successfully extinguishing the fire before the arrival of the fire brigade. Upon receiving a call from the Rustomji Fire Station, emergency responders arrived at the scene with a rescue vehicle to conduct cooling operations and ensure safety.
Although the fire destroyed a washing machine, a refrigerator, and the electrical wiring inside, officials confirmed that no casualties or injuries were reported.
A disaster management official said, “The situation was brought under control quickly due to the prompt intervention of neighbors.”
The area has been declared safe, and officials are currently monitoring the situation.
