Fire breaks out at fireworks storage area in Neeleshwaram; several people injured

Kasargod: Several people were injured when a fire broke out in the fireworks storage area during the Theyyamkettu festival at Anjuthambalam Veererkavu in Neeleshwaram. The condition of several people is said to be critical. The accident occurred around 12 midnight during the “Kulichu Thottam” ritual of Moovalamkuzhi Chamundi Theyyam. It is believed that the fire was caused by a spark from the fireworks. The injured have been admitted to the Kanhangad District Hospital and various private hospitals in Neeleshwaram and Kanhangad. Out of this, three seriously injured people have been admitted to the Pariyaram Medical College Hospital. Many people are being admitted to private hospitals in Mangalore.
