FIR was registered for the murder of the woman, reached the police station after 48 hours in a delirious condition
Ranchi (IANS) | In Jharkhand’s Deoghar, an FIR was registered for the murder of a woman Shobha Devi, but after 48 hours she herself appeared at the police station. The FIR was lodged by Shobha Devi’s father and his son-in-law was made an accused in it. Here, according to Shobha Devi, who appeared in the police station, she was sold by her husband to a person, from whose clutches she somehow managed to escape.
The case pertains to Madhupur police station area of Deoghar district. Shobha was married a few years ago to Vicky Das, a resident of Jayantigram. Since marriage, she was being harassed for demanding dowry of Rs.5 lakh. A month ago she gave birth to a daughter. After this, the process of harassing him intensified. According to Shobha’s father Bahadur Das, on May 31, he came to know that his daughter’s body had been murdered and disposed of. When he asked Shobha’s in-laws about the daughter, no answer was received. Finally, on June 3, they lodged an FIR for her murder.
Here on Wednesday, Shobha Devi reached Deoghar Town police station in a delirious condition. She told that her husband had sold her to a person from where she somehow escaped. Shobha’s condition is such that she is unable to speak properly. He didn’t even get food for three days. However, the police is probing the entire matter.
