Father wanted to sell land for treatment of younger son, elder son murdered him
UP. In Kannauj, in a dispute over one bigha of land, the son killed his father by hitting him with a brick. After the incident, the body was thrown on the field. Police have registered an FIR on the basis of the complaint. The accused is being searched. Ramshankar Batham, a resident of Behrin, has five bighas of land in the village itself. He has three sons and a daughter. Dharamveer is the elder, younger to him Rajveer is suffering from a serious illness and is admitted in a nursing home in Kanpur. The youngest son Govind is mentally weak.
Due to the need of money for the treatment of Rajveer, Ramshankar wanted to sell one bigha of land. He had an argument with Dharamveer over this. On Monday, when the daughter reached the village from her in-laws’ house, she saw locks hanging on the houses of her father and Dharamveer. When she asked the villagers, she came to know that the locks were on for two days. On this, she reached the police station and informed the police.
The villagers told the police who reached the spot that Dharamveer had taken the father away on Sunday evening, after which both are missing. Dharamveer’s family was also found missing from the house. Meanwhile, when some villagers went towards the fields, they saw the body of Ramshankar. The police interrogated them after recovering the body. According to the CO, a case has been registered and investigation has been started. The police station in-charge says that the murder has been committed for one bigha of land.
