Father-in-law’s ATM card and mother-in-law’s jewelery stolen, son-in-law arrested

Raigarh. Chakradharnagar police has arrested an unemployed youth who stole Rs 1 lakh 80 thousand from his in-laws’ house with jewelery and ATM card. The accused is originally a resident of Tilda. Had come to his in-laws house in Panjriplant in the month of January. Waited till April. While leaving, he opened the cupboard and stole his father-in-law’s ATM card and mother-in-law’s earrings and gold jewellery. After the revelations in the investigation, the police were searching for him for a few months. He has been caught in Raigarh itself.

Between January 14 and April 5, Rs 1 lakh 80 thousand had gone missing from the ATM card of Vilaspati Manjhi (54), resident of Panjri Plant in Chakradharnagar. He complained about the matter to the police station. It was told that while searching for the ATM card in the cupboard, along with his card, his wife’s earrings and jewelery were also found missing. Vilaspati complained that an unknown person had entered his house and committed theft. The police had registered the case. After the incident, Vilaspati also suspected that someone from his family or relatives might be involved in the incident. His son-in-law Shivsharan Prasad had come home around the time of the incident. That’s why Shiv Charan was also suspected of theft. ATM card and gold earrings were thrown into the river. Police started searching for Shiv Charan on suspicion of theft and withdrawal of money from ATM. Vaikuntha Tilda also went to his house. He was not found in the house. Chakradharnagar police came to know from informers on Sunday that he was seen roaming in Panjriplant. The police detained him.

After strict interrogation of the suspect, Shivsharan Prasad, he stole a gold earring and ATM card from his in-laws’ house. Came to in-laws house in January. By opening the cupboard, jewelery and ATM cards were stolen from them. He knew the PIN of the card. A total of Rs 1 lakh 80 thousand was withdrawn from the ATM. He was returning to Tilda in April. Fearing that he would be caught, he threw the ATM card and gold earrings in the river. The accused has been sent to jail on remand.
