Father-in-law and daughter-in-law died due to lightning

Jashpur. Monsoon became active in entire Chhattisgarh on Saturday. Along with the monsoon, the Meteorological Department has issued an alert for heavy rain and lightning in many districts of the state. There have been cases of loss of life due to lightning in different areas. In Jashpur too, two people died due to lightning. The condition of two is said to be serious. The incident is of Rajpur, a dependent village of Pahadi Korva, of Gram Panchayat Bhitghara of Bagicha development block of the district.

Father-in-law Ratia Ram (68) and daughter-in-law Dinamati (20), members of the Pahadi Korva family living here, died due to lightning. The mother of the deceased Manjani Bai (50) and husband Samaru Ram have been seriously burnt. He is undergoing treatment. He was fixing the thatch of the house to avoid rain.

Seeing the rain, the Pahadi Korwa family was fixing the roof of their house. The mother of the deceased had come to her daughter’s house. He had fixed almost half of the thatch since morning and after it started raining in the afternoon, he was resting in the verandah adjacent to the same room. During this, lightning struck that room. Due to which the father-in-law and daughter-in-law died. The condition of two is serious.
